FAQs

Z Therapy Whiplash Treatment Center, Dallas, TX

Do you take insurance?
Yes, we take automobile personal injury protection (PIP) and MedPay insurance which is a no-fault coverage that should not increase your rates and your insurance company cannot cancel you for using it. We also take health insurance and 3rd party liability insurance. Call our office to discuss and verify your coverage.

How much do I have to pay out of pocket for treatment?
Usually there is no out-of-pocket expense or deductibles or co-pay depending on what insurance you carry for automobile accidents.

How quickly can I get into treatment?
As soon as we obtain a prescription from your doctor for physical therapy, we can schedule you an
appointment for an evaluation which is usually within 24 hours.

How many treatments will I need and how often?
That depends on your doctor and how many visits he prescribes and how many times per week. If you are making progress, most doctors will extend your therapy past the original prescription.

What do you do?
We are a licensed physical therapy facility that uses licensed physical therapists for rehabilitation of muscular and spinal conditions.

Isn’t all physical therapy the same?
No. As with all professionals, some are better than others based on their experience, training, and equipment that they have to use and which type of injuries they treat the most. We are specialists in auto accident injury and do not perform physical therapy in a broad sense, so we are more familiar with treatment protocols that work for that type injury. Many therapists exclusively use exercise and machines in a gym like atmosphere. Better results are obtained and patients heal faster for muscular injuries in a multi-modial treatment approach, i.e. manual (hands on therapy) use of diagnostic tools such as the MCU to identify which muscles are affected, cold laser, electrical stimulation (interferential), and a specialized strengthening program, such as the Melborne Protocol that we use in conjunction with the MCU for whiplash.

Do you prescribe medication?
We are therapists not doctors so if you need medication, your doctor can prescribe it. We find that with our treatment, medication can be reduced or stopped soon after a few sessions by your doctor due to the pain levels dropping and your injuries healing.

Do you take appointments after 5 PM and weekends?
Yes, we can usually make appointments to fit your schedule and allow you to limit time lost from your work.

Will I fully recover?
Studies at renowned LaTrobe University in Melbourne, Australia have shown remarkable success using the MCU. In fact, over 90% of patients reported major progress. Researchers note direct increases in neck strength and Range of Motion resulting in major reduction in pain and measurable improvements in quality of life.

Why is my doctor sending me to physical therapy?
We work along with your doctor and the doctor’s treatment plan and keep the doctor informed of your progress in therapy. Your doctor believes that physical therapy is in your best interests to help you fully recover or recover more quickly and that medication alone will not help you with your condition or the fact that you are still having problems after taking medication for a period of time.
